Recipes with a story
Every dish here comes from someone — a grandmother, a neighbour, a stall owner who let me watch for ten minutes too long.
The story behind Bangalore Kitchen: a home cook collecting family recipes, street-food obsessions and the dishes people keep asking for.

Bangalore Kitchen started as a shoebox of handwritten cards and a phone full of blurry photos taken over other people's stoves. I cook mostly at night, mostly for friends, and mostly because someone asked for a recipe I'd never actually written down.
So I started writing them down properly — the measurements, the timings, the bit where you have to trust the pan and wait. Some are family dishes. Some are things I ate once on a plastic stool and spent a month trying to recreate.
If a recipe here made it onto the site, it means it has been cooked more than once, fed to people who tell me the truth, and survived a slightly chaotic weeknight.

One pan where possible, ingredients you can actually find, and honest notes about what goes wrong the first time.
Filter coffee mornings and dosa evenings sit happily next to bun cha, pasta and far too many pastries.
Send it over with the story behind it — I might just cook it and feature it here.
